Twisted Emotions presents a series of short stories that appear to surround an adolescent struggling to find himself. In this regard, the author, Johnno Payne, reveals a glimpse into the life of a student, his associations with other fellow students, and their unique roles in his life. Additionally, focus is placed on how the adolescent’s parent(s) respond to situations where fellow students are involved; this includes student bullying and its impact on emotional well-being. There are numerous peer relationships throughout the story and some of the students are quite talented. Twisted Emotions, may pull on your heart strings as it reveals childhood experiences that are influential in some way or another and its impact on a child’s youth.
I don’t like reading split screens, but I do understand costs.

A very awesome book cover, great font & writing style. A very well written coming of age book. It was very easy for me to read/follow from start/finish & never a dull moment. There were no grammar/typo errors, nor any repetitive or out of line sequence sentences. Lots of exciting scenarios, with several twists/turns & a great set of unique characters to keep track of. This could also make another great coming of age movie, or a mini TV series.
It was just OK for me so I will rate it at 3/5 stars.

I enjoyed reading the book very much. Very well written stories. They make you feel as though you are a part of the action and emotions of the characters. Took me back to my teen years.
The writer manages to capture the essence of the teen world, its emotions and language with perfection. Made me smile all the way through when I wasn't shedding a tear. A very different, unique voice.
Johnno is an amazing new and fresh young story teller, that puts you in the front seat as if you where there. he tells the story as if he where talking to you in person. His stories that are mostly true will remind you of your ( Wild ) teen yrs or if you are a teen you can relate. Look out for him, he`s a rising star.
I wish I'd been quicker off the mark to write a review of Johnno Payne's first book (of many, I hope). Then I could have used the words fresh, perfect rendition of adolescence, rising star. The moment I came upon his writing, actually in another context than his Twisted Emotions Tales of Teen Life, I was mightily impressed. He nails point of view with his first person perspective, and is adroit at allowing his characters to reveal themselves through dialogue and actions. The narrator himself, in each story, is perfect for the situation of the story... and Johnno's use of metaphor can be uncannily good. The stories in this collection are quite splendid, capturing emotions, situations, humor and pathos in the life of a teenage boy growing and interacting with his world - a unique perspective. Readers, do yourselves a service and get and read his stories - you won't be disappointed, and you may just be in at the beginning of a glittering career! I can't wait to see Johnno Payne's future output.
This new author is a delight to read. His characters jump to life and trigger memories of real people we’ve known, events that we’ve experienced, and emotions we’ve felt. The appeal of this book is not limited to teens. It has been several decades since I’ve graduated from my teen years, yet reading these stories brings the memory of those years vividly back to mind. Reading these stories, I have shed tears of sadness, and laughed so hard that I cried. I have fully enjoyed these stories and I’m betting that you will also.
